Topic on Talk:Edit Review Improvements/New filters for edit review

A "Filter OUT" option would make this tool even better.

For example, I would like to filter OUT Wikidata edits. Otherwise, I really like the tool - appealing and easy interface, fast, not intrusive. Thanks! ~~~~

Thank you for your comment!

Do you have the "WIkidata" filter selected (checked)? If so, uncheck it.

In your preferences, check if "Show Wikidata edits in recent changes" in both Watchlist and Recent changes in your Preferences ar checked or not.

I gave you the explanations with the English labels, assuming that English Wikipedia is your primary wiki based on your profile.

Markworthen (talkcontribs)

Thank you @Trizek (WMF) for the fast response. :) Here are my current global settings:

Wikidata filter = Not checked

Watchlist: "Show Wikidata edits in recent changes" = Not checked

Recent changes: "Show Wikidata edits in recent changes" = Not checked

Trizek (WMF) (talkcontribs)

Do you have this issue on your watchist, on Recent Changes or both? What happen if you check, save, uncheck and save those preferences?

Markworthen (talkcontribs)

On my watchlist. What is "Recent Changes"?

I did the following for Wikidata edits:

Check > Save > Uncheck > Save

I did that in the Filter and in Preferences. I purged cache afterwards, but no difference. I tried it on Edge and Chrome.

I have this Beta feature enabled: New wikitext mode. I don't know if that could be a factor.

Having wikidata edits showing up in my Watchlist is not a major problem for me, but I did want to give you all some feedback since you've worked so hard on this project and overall I'd call it a big success. :0)

Trizek (WMF) (talkcontribs)

Recent Changes are where all new edits are listed.

Do you use any gadget? Can you visit your watchlist using this special link? It will turn off any gadget/script/magic trick that may interfere.

Markworthen (talkcontribs)

I used the special link, but no change.

I use a lot of gadgets:

BROWSING

ImageAnnotator: view image notes and comments on file description pages

Redirect image links to Commons for files hosted there

Navigation popups: article previews and editing functions pop up when hovering over links

Open external links in a new tab or window

Twinkle: automate common tasks such as reporting vandalism, warning vandals, requesting deletion, welcoming users, and tagging articles (preferences)

Enable the Teahouse "Ask a question" feature

Reference Tooltips: hover over inline citations to see reference information without moving away from the article text (does not work if "Navigation popups" is enabled above)

FormWizard: a wizard for creating and expanding project pages

WATCHLIST

Geonotice: display notices on your watchlist about events in your region

Display watchlist notices

(This loads the base style for the watchlist. Please do not disable this option.)

Display green collapsible arrows and green bullets for changed pages in your watchlist, page history and recent changes (unavailable with the improved Watchlist user interface)

Display pages on your watchlist that have changed since your last visit in bold (see customizing watchlists for more options)

Subtle update marker: Tone down the "Changed since last visit" indicator on history pages. (By default it renders as a green-filled bar, enabling this gadget changes it to green text.)

EDITING

Add two new dropdown boxes below the edit summary box with some useful default summaries

Citation expander: automatically expand and format citations using Citation bot

Syntax highlighter: Alternative to the default coloring of wiki syntax in the edit box (works best in Firefox and works almost all of the time in Chrome and Opera)

HotCat: easily add, remove, and change categories on a page, with name suggestions (example)

Shortdesc helper: easily add and edit page short descriptions

wikEd: alternative full-featured integrated text editor for Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome (documentation)

Yet Another AFC Helper Script: easily review Articles for creation submissions, Files for Upload, redirect and category requests

Form for filing disputes at the dispute resolution noticeboard

CharInsert: add a toolbar under the edit window for quickly inserting wiki markup and special characters

refToolbar: add a "cite" button to the editing toolbar for quick addition of commonly used citation templates

Add extra buttons to the old (non-enhanced) editing toolbar

APPEARANCE

Add an [edit] link for the lead section of a page

Add a clock to the personal toolbar that displays the current time in UTC and provides a link to purge the current page

MoreMenu: add Page and User dropdown menus to the toolbar with links to common tasks, analytic tools and logs (documentation: Vector, Monobook or Modern)

Change UTC-based times and dates, such as those used in signatures, to be relative to local time (documentation)

Display a floating alert for new talk page messages

Display an assessment of an article's quality in its page header (documentation)

Show radio buttons to switch between views of certain content, such as some maps

SidebarTranslate: display sidebar language links in English

Widen the search box in the Vector skin

Display links to disambiguation pages in orange

Strike out usernames that have been blocked

Improved appearance for mobile, narrow and wide screens (documentation)

XTools: dynamically show statistics about a page's history under the page heading

TESTING AND DEVELOPMENT

AddMe: endorse or join a project using Template:Probox

Make sure that headers of tables remain in view as long as the table is in view (requires Firefox v59 or Safari)

Install scripts without having to edit your JS files

QUESTION: If I give you permission, can you inspect my settings for Watchlist, Preferences, etc.?

Trizek (WMF) (talkcontribs)

The link I gave you enables Safemode to the page you visit (it adds safemode=1 to the URL): it disabled every script and gadget you use. The next process is to look for a bug in the console, which is explained on this page.

I can't have access to your Watchlist and all, unless if you give me your password, which is something you mustn't consider (and we won't do).

Wargo (talkcontribs)

Copy here link from your browser when you are on watchlist and have unchecked Show Wikidata edits.

Ah ha! Thank you so much Trizek, that worked. :0) I checked the boxes for Page edits, Page creations, and Non-minor edits. I appreciate your help!
