Hi, what's the rationale about why categories are not available as a default in the mobile view?

Already available in beta features.

I know but that is not obvious to the average reader.

I think there is a case to be made that categories should be enabled for amc users. I'm not sure why it isn't. Please raise a phabricator ticket if that's wanted. I believe it's just a config change.

@Jdlrobson: I can create a phabricator task, no problem. Don't you think this one is related to phab:T152199, which has been marked as stalled for more than a year?

Would like to enable categories without also enabling the floating go-to-top link.

The go to top link has been removed from the codebase. Are you running an old version?

I was referring to the version in use on Wikimedia sites, but that was some time ago.

I had noticed a Categories button appeared at some stage in mobile/Minerva on en-wp -- tested just now and see that it's specific to AMC. *thumbs-up*
