Download as PDF - not working

Summary by Tgr (WMF)

We have switched to a new renderer since then, which should be more robust against this kind of problem.

Waiting takes forever and still no PDF downloads. Tried again and again.

Have you tried printing the article a to pdf file in your web browser? Firefox gives better results than the Wiki tool and I have heard good things about Chromium/Chrome too.

Do you have a specific page where you are experiencing this ? Because for me it works almost instantly on most pages.

Thanks for the feedback.

Can you provide any specifics? (Which wiki, which article, have you tried other articles?)

As others have pointed out elsewhere, this report was made a few hours before the switchover, and so presumably refers to some problem with the old PDF rendering service, Electron. Since we are not using it anymore, it's not actionable. Robustness (ie. avoiding situations where the service locks down and does not respond at all) was actually the main reason for the switch, so hopefully this is better now.
