Hello, MediaWiki. This site looks like what I've been searching for, as I wish to establish and maintain a wiki in this format.

Question: to proceed, do I [A] take a computer I'm not using and download and install it and maintain it there? or [B] can it be installed and maintained in a cloud ? ( or [C] WordPress ? )

Both personal computer and cloud is possible. Wordpress is something else entirely, you can't run MediaWiki on Wordpress.

Cloud will always be online, others can get access to it but will cost. Personal computer will be almost free, private but a little hassle unless on Linux.
