Blocked or not?

I've had some issues with my IP address being blocked at several points over the past couple of years, owing to action by someone else. I've just managed to create a new account, and I'm managing to post this! However, when I try to edit a page, I still get the message saying the creation of my account has been blocked by IvanVector. Please could we sort this out?

You should tell us on what wiki you're getting the blocked message, and also the block ID that's displayed on the same message. That would help us determine where to look for the block.

What is a 'block ID', please. Today I can't even log in, it's still citing the ban by Ivanvector.

The link you have provided says I should log in or create an account in order to appeal the block. Being blocked, I can't do either ...

That is not all it says; other options exist if you cannot edit your talk page.

@Clump: the user can't create an account because account creation is blocked on the range. Unfortunately as my checkuser rights are suspended I cannot do the required checks myself to see if they are the target of the block or not, so they will need to apply to ACC for account creation.

@GlorybetotheFather: your IP range is blocked because of users abusing multiple accounts in violation of our policy. You can try to create your account from a different device on a different computer network, otherwise you will have to request an account by following the instructions for the .

I can't get the link to render in this interface, but the URL is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Request_an_account.

@GlorybetotheFather: actually, don't follow those instructions, it seems there may be a technical problem here. I'll get back to you.
