It looks like this has been fixed. Please post again if it breaks again.

I still get the JavaScript error when I visit the URL I posted initially. The browser console is logged with TypeError: range is null when I visit that page.

Do you have your editing prefs set to two tabs?

Kaartic (talkcontribs)

I'm not sure about that pref. How would you do that? Nothing related caught my eyes in a cursory scan in Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing. Hope I'm not missing anything obvious.

I just noted something now. When I visit the page the editing toolbar appears disabled. The toolbar also appears disabled in safemode but the JavaScript error is not shown in that case.

That's interesting. I don't find the preference in Special:Preferences of Mediawiki. I do find it in the w:Special:Preferences of Wikipedia.

To answer the actual question, it does seems to be set to two tabs. How is that related to the issue? I get the error regardless of the Preference for the "Editing tabs".

One tab produces a URL that says &action=edit and two tabs produces one that says &veaction=edit. The link/button does the first.

Every now and again, there's been a bug that only appears for people with a particular configuration of tabs. That doesn't seem to be the case here, however.

Does the toolbar look disabled after you click where you want to type?

Kaartic (talkcontribs)

Ok. It seems the toolbar is by default disabled for the "Subject" line. It isn't disabled when I click on the main editing interface. Didn't know this before.
