Trey Jones (@TJones (WMF), one of the WMF search engineers, put together a 45 minute presentation covering the very basics on how search works. There's more information in the description on Commons.

Mmm... isn't this too hardcore for Tech Showcase. I confess that I haven't gone through the 45 minute session :) but clicking here and there I don't see any specific plans being showcased?
