With Japanese IME on Windows I find difficulties. Often input, cut and paste operations are ignored so I had to copy and paste from text editors.

No links and other formatting is supported. I also tried to request an implementation of word analysis for automatically wiki link targeting. Each first word should offer an article suggestion for linking to it when the translating user chooses to link target with human intelligence. I don't know if it still exists.
