Topic on Project:Support desk

I am trying to set up a template. It is a link to Google Translate. However, the text going in the template makes the link not work.

Is there any template or parser function that can take words and make an html link with them?

Possibly the magic word "urlencode". See Help:Magic words#URL data.

Also see the source code for w:Template:ShortSearch for something along the lines of what you are apparently trying to create.
