Note since 1.26 ConfirmEdit has included a module for the new reCAPTCHA (the No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA, not the Invisible reCAPTCHA). ConfirmEdit works for projects on shared hosting and is actively maintained, so users may want to check it out too. Just remember ConfirmEdit defaults to a useless simple math problem CAPTCHA, so you need to explicitly change it to using the new reCAPTCHA.
