Who removed the print version?

I want to cut and paste documents into Microsoft Word so I can easily remove unnecessary tables of contents, attributions, and so forth in the final printed version. Now when I click on the printable version link it does not give the less formatted version but rather it goers straight to the print dialog box. I expect that much paper and ink is wasted. Who knows what rubbish that will print!??

This is a retrograde change!

Not sure what browser you are using, but ALL modern browsers after IE5.5 will apply print styles automatically when going to Print.

Printable version was only needed in order to support IE5.5 and since we stopped supporting that, it no longer has a use.

Totally agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was the most STUPID decision ever happened to Wikipedia.

Previously -- as a USER -- I was able to format the printable version in MS Word for my needs and convenience: like underlining some text I needed, changing the font which is better for my eyes, than Times New Roman, or adding my personal notes in different font/color in parenthesis, etc. So it was much more comfortable for me as a USER.

This "modernization" with the option to print to the equally unusable/rigid MS One Note, or the download in the PDF format, which has many limitations itself, besides both Wikipedia's tries, is the change to the MUCH WORSE USABILITY. You would better provide your programmers with other "play-doh", so they wouldn't experiment with a very well working (sorry, WORKED) features!!! (;'-(((((((
