Hey guys I am trying to follow this direction: Type into a shell "which gs convert pdfinfo pdftotext" to see if you have the above installed first. But it obviously doesn't work in regular CMD on my Windows box so is there a way I am able to do this from Wiki? Thank you very much for your help. Chris

Your question seems to be if there is a Microsoft Windows equivalent for the "which" command, if you'd like to search for such info.

Also note that the direction is not about "opening a shell in MediaWiki" (MediaWiki has no shell included) but about opening a shell on your operating system.

Thank you, I am totally out of my element with this stuff but in regular command typing in that string they want me to type in brings back an error. Do you know where I am supposed to enter that? Thank you!

That's to enter in a terminal/shell/console window on the machine that is also hosting your MediaWiki instance.

Thank you! When I enter that command in CMD it comes back because it doesn't know the command which

That's why I wrote that you'd need to find the equivalent of the "which" command if you are on Microsoft Windows... :)

"which" returns the full path of those executables (which should be in directories present in the $PATH environment variable).

On windows there's not a such feature but you can simply search the entire C:\ disk for executables with that name.

Okay, thanks guys.. I believe I have what I need but I still can't get this PDFHandler to work for the life of me..
