Is there a time limit or something on how long in progress translations are stored? I was working on one a few months ago and while it still shows as in progress, all my work is gone.

Normally translation drafts haven't time limit, they only disappear of you click on Delete.
So you've probably found a bug :
- Are you sure that it's with this account that you have started the translation ?
- Are you sure that you never suppress it ?
- Can you verify, of you remember the title, that the source page exists and as not been deleted on-wiki ?
- Can you verify, of you remember, provide us the couple of source and destination title, with your browser name and version ?

What do you mean by "gone"? It's supposed to be there, but there might be a bug in loading. With the name of the page I may be able to help you restore it.
I mean that it still shows in my "In progress" column, but the text boxes are blank when I load the article. So the translation I was doing is gone.
Looks like translation is totally down anyway, and other people had similar issues.
As of April 24 Special:ContentTranslation doesn't even exist anymore. Hope they get it back up soon.

Ok I managed to get my translation back by restoring the gadgets for the Spanish Wikipedia back to default. Apparently something I had enabled was conflicting with the translator. Guess I'll have to use trial and error and figure out which gadget is causing a problem.
I'd love to know which gadget causes it. Bugs in gadgets is one of the most common reasons for Content Translation's failure. If it happens again, can you please press F12 and paste any errors that you see in the JavaScript console?
