I have a search inputbox. is it possible to limit the search only to category ?

Yes. See Extension:InputBox#Parameters under the part namespaces=.

Hmm, but i would want to search in specific category such as: State category, rather than entire namespace.

I guess you would set the name space to a category and then say which one.

So, do you mean i have to create additional namespace call Namespace:State then link it to category:State ?

If Extension:CirrusSearch is installed, this can be done by making use of the incategory parameter.

The following should work:
