Special:Version here currently indicates 1.27.0-wmf.8 whilst Main_Page indicates 1.26 as current. I think it would be useful to mention all versions on here especially those that are used by way more people than all the other versions put together (WP is the elephant in the room - obviously)
I imagine that 1.26 is the currently considered stable version but I don't think that this site should shy away from mentioning the current state of development especially when it is in use by many millions of people.
