Translated whole article, pressed publish and all was gone...

Dear all,

sorry for disturbing but... I wanted to participate in the Translation competition and therefore tried out the new Content Translator, and I totally failed.

I translated the article Siddham from the German language to Esperanto.

In the end, I pressed the publish-button.

Unfortunately, the tool took only the headline and the first picture and let go all the rest.

In addition, it changed the title from "Sidhamo" to "Sidhamo Referencoj Literaturo Retligiloj".

On the translating page, it additionally gave the wrong information that all my text consists of 100% unmodified machine translation which is not correct (I did not even find machine translation from DE to EO, probably there ist no such thing available).

I find it also embarrassing that I have to write about my problems in English because it seems there is no such discussion-page in Esperanto, although on the Esperanto-Wikipedia pages I was invited in Esperanto to participate in the competition and try the Content Translator (EnhavTradukilo). However, when I klicked on "Sendu vian opinion" I was directed here to the page Talk:Content translation.

I am very disappointed that after the warm and welcoming invitation, the tool does'nt work properly AND there is no help support in Esperanto (contrary to what the invitation suggests) AND therefore I have to write on an English page, where zillions of people are discussing zillions of different problems.

For me it looks a bit like a fake and all my work is lost. What can I do now? Anybody have a hint for me?

@Bel Air, I am very sorry this happened. We have been getting similar reports from some users, but the circumstances have been so inconsistent that we have not been able to find an effective cause for this kind of failure. I am including @Nikerabbit in this conversation as he is currently investigating this problem. (Ticket). Thanks for letting us know and much apologies for the inconvenience.

Hi @Bel Air. I am sorry this happened to you. I don't have a solution for your issue yet, and unfortunately your draft is really lost. We will stop deleting drafts to make investigation of these failures easier.

There were probably some kind of JavaScript errors, but there are no details about the publication of that article in our event logging database, so it is difficult to say what could have been the exact cause.

The "100% unmodified machine translation" text also appears when MT is not available. This is a bug and it should read differently. It just means that you did not change the paragraphs in any way after clicking them (or if you did, there is another bug).

For the language issue, I can barely say "mi ne parolas esperanton", so you can consider me eo-0. If you are having technical issues (like you do now) our team can only help you if you bring the issue to our attention in a way we can understand (like you did now) – hence there is no technical support in Esperanto. The Esperanto community is of course free to provide support with their abilities, but that is their choice.
