Hi , I think as most of you aware of the recent spam attacks on flow in mediawiki wiki for the past two weeks. Much of our time and effort is getting wasted in fixing those spam attacks. Though we have abuse filter 41 and 42 setup, still they are finding out a way to spam each day. if the dev's can do some help by implementing something like mass delete, etc.. it would be great, Any opinions?--~~~~~

The Collaboration team also contributed Special:AbuseFilter/43 and Special:AbuseFilter/44. Someone may want to take a look, and see if further enhancements to these can be made.

Hi Shanmugamp7, Collaboration team is working on this problem. As you can see on this global task, a mass delete option is planned.

Ok, Thanks for linking the tasks Trizek, Is it possible to prioritize some of the tasks?, at lease the nuke one?. I know the the flow spam is happening from long back but now this is happening on daily basis and its really waste of time to go and delete each topic

Yes, we plan to do both https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T115695 and https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T115128 relatively soon. I'll prioritize the Nuke one per your request.

Any advice from a sysop would be welcome!

I am a sysop here and a steward as well. We are trying all the possible ways to stop it. Still somehow these spam bots are finding a way to spam :).

For instance , if you take Special:CentralAuth/Reshnmciik this spam bot , it has made 82 posts and we need make 82 deletions manually, if we would have had nuke it would have been much better

No, but I do get notified about new spam ;)

You get notified about any new message on a Flow page you watch. And that mean you are notified 80 times when 80 new topics are posted. :/

The notifications are aggregated for me. For example, even if there are new posts on page X, I get one single notification "n new topics on X". Is that not what happens for you @Subfader?

I forgot to precise this, thank you Glaisher: my notifications are aggregated as well. I just sometimes have several emails for the same topic.

You can't reply with an indentation on the last message : if you reply to the last message that mean you are participating to the whole discussion. You can mention someone, or quote to be more clearer.

The purpose of this is to avoid multiple indentations at the start of a message.

@Subfader Sorry about that. Someone outside the team backported a patch that shouldn't have been backported (they were trying to be helpful!), which caused a caching bug. It was fixed ~45 mins ago.
