I can confirm this.

Take a look at https://test2.wikipedia.org/wiki/Testing_something_2 and try alt-shift-v. It doesn't open VE, but selects the "newest version" tab instead.

On a page where is not the "newest version" tab, alt-shift-v opens VE.

I tried it at the link, but it didn't work. I pressed alt-shift-v while i have been at the "read-page". What happend? It opens VE.
