Parse error when I try to publish a translation

Hi, I translated a English article into Spanish but I can't publish it. Every time I click the publish button i get this error: There has been an error. Try again.Error: parsoidserver-http: HTTP 503

I checked around here to see if someone else had the same problem but the solutions given didn't work, this

didn't work, since my translation wasn't published after the error and this one didn't work because my translation has a references section.

Same here, getting the exact same error at a translation from Finnish to Romanian. Just to test, I translated an article from English to Romanian, and it was published successfully.

MCarlos (talkcontribs)

well, I tried with a fresh translation instead of one I had been working for a couple days and I receive the error anyways, I guess it's a language specific error, then

@MCarlos, @Andrei Stroe, thanks for the reports. This is one of the main issues on which the team is working now.

Were your articles published eventually? You can check it in your contributions page.

I still can't publish mine. It's definitely not published.

MCarlos (talkcontribs)

same as @Andrei Stroe, tried again today, still can't publish

MCarlos (talkcontribs)

@Amire80 ok, status report, i was able to publish the fresh translation that i started yesterday, but the 2 days old translation still throw an error, i going to assume that it's corrupted or something, I will restart it I guess :( at least the text is already translated

I copy-pasted the content of my translation, paragraph by paragraph, to the Visual Editor and tried to save it. I got the exact same error. I think my problem is on that parsoid server component, whatever it is, that seems to be used by both the VisualEditor and the ContentTranslation Tool. It might be something with the text I'm translating, but I don't know what, because the error is cryptic.

This is almost certainly due to the footnotes. I tried to copy and paste text from the translation to the VE, and then switch from VE to source editing. It works when no footnotes are added, but at any paragraph that has a footnote, it freezes.

Is this being tracked anywere on phabricator?

Never mind. Found it: phab:T109230

Same problem here. My draft number is 59147 (English wikipedia "Test Cricket" to Chinese). Does the fact that a table exists matter?

As I tried to publish an article (German -> Japanese) in my user page as a draft, I got the message "parsoidserver-http: HTTP 503". Can anyone help me?

Hi everyone, and much apologies for all the trouble. This was a major problem we encountered last week and unfortunately affected a lot of translations. This is now fixed and should not occur any more. Please try publishing again and if you see the errors, do please let us know. It would be extremely helpful if you could tell us the language names and the articles you were trying to publish. Thank you.

Thanks @Andrei Stroe . We can check the logs to see if something stares back as a possible problem about that article. Sorry about the trouble.
