Refactoring features

Hi all.

As an off-shot of Topic:Sdoatsbslsafx6lw.

I am glad Editing other people’s comments coming last week of March, and Search are being worked on. They are both a feature of LQT, and are in this little list. Some things were not prioritised though.

  • Ability to split and merge messages phab:T97983
  • Ability to move individual messages phab:T97984
  • Ability to indent and outdent messages (both mine and someone else's) phab:T97985
  • Ability to edit the signature (and timestamp) of others' messages phab:T97986

As you see, I filed a task for each of them, and linked to this thread (as well as to the little list) in their description. I am hoping this helps us keep track of these issues and implement them.

Yeah, that's becoming a meta tracking bug now...

There are a few items in its description for which I didn't create a specific task yet.

Gryllida, are you assuming that we're going to be converting wikitext talk pages to Flow? We're not planning on doing that -- we're going to convert LQT pages, but wikitext pages will just be archived.

The "ability to edit the signature and timestamp" ticket looks like it comes from the assumption that you'd need to fix a problem that's created by converting wikitext to Flow. I can't think of a reason why you'd want to edit a message creation date; it's system-generated.
