Hoi, can someone please change my email address to gerard.meijssen@gmail.com. Currently it points to a no longer existing wikimedia account. Thanks,

Qgil-WMF (talkcontribs)

Also, it probably links to that old email address because you accepted it when logging with your MediaWiki account for the first time? Can you check which email address have you defined at Special:Preferences?

Andre, I tried to register in the phabricator portal (to migrate from bugzilla) but... on https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/settings/panel/email/ 1. There is no talk page or other way to list the roadblocks. 2. Wikimedia SUL / password did not authenticate ?? I got to Unified Login and it works for meta. 3. my bugzilla email ID did not authenticate. 4. Login and Register point to the same page, which is unexpected

What to do next? Ancheta

Hi Ancheta, could you elaborate what you mean by "no talk page to list roadblocks"? Roadblocks for what exactly? Wikimedia SUL has worked successfully for many users - if it does not work for you, could you describe what's happening when you try to register? When you say "my bugzilla email ID did not authenticate", how did you find out or how did this show?

Hi Andre, I am not a phab user and wish to register. How? Where do I record my difficulties with the documentation / instruction?

There was a link to phabricator https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/auth/start/

I entered my SUL ID and failed phab's challenge response. Where was the place to record my failure and ask fo help?

Same story with my bugzilla credential

Tried again https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/auth/start/

Entered my Wikipedia Unified login

Clicked Wikimedia Flower button, got to OAuth page

phabricator-production would like to have basic access on your behalf on all projects of this site.

Clicked Allow

entered bugzilla email ID

Entered authentication information

Got to Hi Ancheta_Wis,

Please verify that you own this email address (xxxxx.com) by clicking this link:

Hi Ancheta, you are very welcome to record your difficulties here so we can help you to successfully register and log in! We need to know the exact steps that you performed. Did you click the "Login or Register - MediaWiki" button? Were you redirected to mediawiki.org asking for your username and password for mediawiki.org? After entering that, did you get a dialog saying "phabricator-production would like to have basic access on your behalf on all projects of this site"? After clicking "Allow", did you end up on Phabricator again? If one of these steps did not work for you, please tell us which exact step was the problem and what exactly happened instead. Also I don't know what you mean by "same story with my bugzilla credential" and how to reproduce that problem.

It is a bit confusing if you edit previous existing comments in this conversation instead of adding a new comment. So you log in again by clicking the same "Log in or register" button again.

So you seem to fail *verifying* your email address (proving that it's really yours). I am surprised that URL http://phabricator.wikimedia.org/auth/login/ldap:self/ starts with http instead of httpS and I am not sure why. It should have automatically forwarded to the httpS link instead.

And you wrote "Please verify that you own this email address (xxxxx.com) by clicking this link" but what does "xxxxx.com" stand for? And which URL did "this link" lead to?

I have decided to let the dust settle.

There needs to be a testing period with uninitiated users. It won't be me.

AKlapper (WMF) (talkcontribs)

I am sorry to hear that. :(
