MediaWiki: 1.22.1 PHP 5.3.2 Database MySQL 5.0.77

Hello all,

I am making a wiki in English and German, like Wikipedia. I followed all the steps in here, installed this and also here.

Unfortunately there is no languages panel on the sidebar, which means I cannot change the language of the wiki through the sidebar except I write "de:" on the search box.

Any suggestion why this is happening?

EDIT: I am using XAMPP, which means I am developing it in localhost

Did you actually put any internalguage link inside the pages you want to link to the other language versions? (for example: placing [[en:Some page]] on the page of the german version.
