ldapvi is a tool for easy editing of LDAP objects. It reads the entire object into a text editor, allows you to edit it, then applies the changes to the LDAP server.
% ldapvi uid=rriver
To use it, you need to create a file called $HOME/.ldapvirc, which looks like this:
