Topic on VisualEditor/Feedback

I like the Visual Editor for when I'm just doing surface stuff (copyediting, fixing typos, etc), but otherwise, I prefer the source editing. There's a minor annoyance about the VE that shouldn't be too hard to fix, however: Every time I open it up, I can't do anything for a few seconds then "Welcome to Visual Editor!" After a while, this can really get annoying, especially when you're on an unreliable internet connection where you often have to reload the page two or three times to get it to show up. If there was some sort of "Don't show this message again" box, that'd be great.

The beta welcome dialog sets a cookie after you've seen it once that makes it not show for the next 30 days (and resets the cookie to 30 days hence every time you use VisualEditor), so unless your browser is set up to clear cookies it shouldn't show the dialog a second time on a given browser. Do you have your browser set to only accept certain cookies?

I've got it set to delete cookies after I close out, I'll change that. Thanks!

I think it´s OK. It welcomes you like a greeting, like welcome back. Plus, it doesn´t know if you are there for the first time or not.Tina3456 (talk)
