Hello I retrieved version 2.0 of Maps from a Git snapshot. I am unclear if image layers are supported at this time. I looked at the documentation - http://mapping.referata.com/wiki/Images_as_layers - but I can't see how to actually reference an image directly. That example seems to use some kind of predefined layer but I'm not sure where that is. I am hoping to have my set up allow editors to use images that they upload in the usual way and then use the image as a map layer. This is for collaboratively commenting/marking images.

This functionality was added quite a while back mostly as proof of concept and has since not been polished or maintained. I suspect it's completely broken in Maps 2.0.x. User:Danwe has been doing work to enhance the functionality but it has not made it's way into master yet. Hopefully it will be in the 2.1 release :)

Thanks. I'll get in contact with Danwe. I notice he mentions that it inadvisable using some of these extensions on large wiki's. My project could potentially be large as it is to do with collaboratively marking/commenting space images (primarily planetary surfaces).
