Why I can't delete my old notifications??? My list will be longer and longer and longer ... This is very unfavorable. --Alchemist-hp (talk) 05:29, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi Alchemist-hp, Adding a way to delete/archive a notification was discussed a few times, and the conclusion was against it because of the extra complexity that would need to be added both to the codebase, and to the User Interface (e.g. people mis-clicking on a "delete" icon, and possibly needing a "confirmation step", and probably also resulting in requests for a way for users to "undelete"). (See also: http://www.catb.org/jargon/html/Z/Zawinskis-Law.html )

The one feature request that is more likely to be developed at some point, is phab:T73564 ("Allow marking Echo notifications as unread"), which would enable us to "pin" or "sticky" a notification, so that we could easily get back to it later.

Sidenote: The list in the flyout, will only ever list 25 items maximum. The larger list in Special:Notifications, is limited to 2,000.
