I suggest using the following tracking categories for templates and modules that transclude this template:
- I fail to see the point of doing this; a list of such global templates and modules can already be found at Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Shared Template Warning. * Pppery * it has begun 01:21, 1 October 2021 (UTC)

Please apply Special:Diff/4694898 in order for {{Shared Template Warning}} to have the same visual style as other {{mbox}} templates, thus ensuring visual consistency. — ExE Boss (talk) 19:22, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
No more automatic changes
[edit]Sadly, DiBabel has been broken since 2001, so this template should probably be removed from the templates and modules using it, or at least the text should be changed? Sophivorus (talk) 13:21, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

Consider the following code instead.

- I've unprotected the page. This entire template is a mostly pointless relic that we should probably just delete, but in the mean time there's no need to restrict editing to admins. * Pppery * it has begun 21:00, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Tactica, @Pppery: Please explain these removals: 7938407, 7937327, 7937310, and 7937320.
- According to Multilingual Templates and Modules, interwiki shared templates and modules are still in use and maintained with the Synchronizer tool.
- Has this approach been deprecated or discontinued?-- Shirayuki (talk) 01:09, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
- The original plan for Template:Shared Template Warning was that there was a bot which would keep one canonical list of templates and modules in synch across wikis with MediaWiki.org as the source. Hence those templates and modules needed to be annotated with a warning indicating that. Synchronizer works in a completely different way -- it lets you specify any module on any wiki as the source, so there's no canonical source and hence nothing to annotate. * Pppery * it has begun 01:14, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
- I guess it's also worth noting that a lot of translations are still using the template despite my removals. I'll let Shirayuki or someone else with higher access do that since this isn't trivial for the average user (nothing is when Translate is involved...). Tactica (talk) 01:31, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
- Your changes needed to be marked for translation - I've done so now. * Pppery * it has begun 02:46, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
