Issue with hash char at start of second parameter

When the second parameter starts with a hash character (e.g. {{irc|pywikibot|#pywikibot channel}}) it will interpret that # as wikitext and create a list: #pywikibot channel ^connect. Now when I remove the if condition so that it always adds the second parameter it works though: #works not^connect — xZise [talk] 13:30, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

Rename to {{IRC}}

This is to match the capitalisation of Template:Channel (Q6430744), where almost all wikis use the uppercase form of {{IRC}}, rather than the lowercase form of {{irc}}. — ExE Boss (talk) 12:50, 24 July 2021 (UTC)

For future reference, you shouldn't move doc pages like Template:IRC/doc before the base page is moved; it not only assumes the move will be performed, but gets in the way of the translate extension's automatic page move feature (so I had to move it back). * Pppery * _{it has begun} 16:44, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
