"Team goal" column
[edit]Can we kill it? If not what the heck am I supposed to put there? BDavis (WMF) (talk) 00:39, 21 June 2017 (UTC)
- The table structure was based on the columns used by the first 4 teams to post their Q1 goals. It's fine to leave a column blank if it doesn't apply.
- So far, only the Performance team has used it. If it's not helping other teams, we might persuade them to omit it from this page. KSmith (WMF) (talk) 00:42, 21 June 2017 (UTC)
"Tech Goal" column is redundant
[edit]The programs are tied to Tech Goals are they not? BDavis (WMF) (talk) 00:40, 21 June 2017 (UTC)
- Good question. The Tech Goals conversation predates my involvement. If it is possible to mechanically map from program to Tech Goal, then I agree the column should not be necessary.
- Can you point me to a secret decoder ring that identifies the tech goal(s) for each program? (If not, that sounds like another possible use of the Programs page.) KSmith (WMF) (talk) 00:49, 21 June 2017 (UTC)
- It may be data that only exists in the gdoc drafts that predated the public metawiki programs descriptions. Regardless, if we are tracking work based on annual plan programs now it seems like all the "this is why we are doing this work" tracking should be replaced by the program association.
