App vs website

[edit]

Is it possible to have a Year in Review based on website data next year? I edit on the same account on my phone, but it is easier to edit on the website / computer version for me. My Year in Review didn't take any data from my editing off the app despite the account linking. Not sure if this is the best place to put this. Thanks for the review though! It looked very cool-- just wish I had more data because I just downloaded the app and mostly edit on the web version. Catboy69 (talk) 17:54, 3 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Catboy69,
Thanks so much for your message and for sharing this feedback.
To clarify, the Year in Review currently does count edits made from the web as long as you’re logged into the same account. If you’d like us to look into your specific case in more detail, feel free to email us at ios\android-support@wikimedia.org and we’ll be happy to help.
We’re really glad you enjoyed the review, and we appreciate you taking the time to reach out. Please feel free to share any other thoughts or ideas. ARamadan-WMF (talk) 13:51, 10 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
I also agree with @Catboy69. As a regular editor, its very hard to edit on the app, and I actually deleted the app because my browser would redirect to it when I was trying to make an edit and I just find it counter-intuitive to use. This meant I saw almost none of the personalised data, despite having 2000+ edits this year. It also doesn't aggregate pages viewed on desktop and give the country statistics based on this, and I'm sure many of the most avid editors like myself who edit on desktop would love to have this data. My lack of app use meant I didn't even get a time spent reading. I've been working on translating the Year in Review into Italian, so I knew ahead of time everything I expected to see, and yet none of it was there for me. All this does go to say that we do appreciate your work on the feature, and I can't wait to see how it gets developed in the coming years. Wheelygay (talk) 01:32, 29 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
