License problems

[edit]

The answer suggestions are lacking one important option: "The license of this image does not allow usage in this Wikipedia language version". This is especially the case for images that are PD in the US but not in other countries. Discostu (talk) 19:59, 3 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for sharing this, I will flag it with the team for the post-MVP version of the feature. JTanner (WMF) (talk) 09:51, 18 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Daily goal

[edit]

I think it'd be nice if the daily goal was a little more dynamic. Right now, once you get to 10, it sorta sends the message "okay, nice job, you're done now, you should quit". It'd probably get people to contribute more if it instead asked "want to continue?" and set the goal ten higher if you say yes. Sdkbtalk 20:00, 4 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

This is really great feedback! Thanks for sharing this, we will consider this for the post-MVP version of the feature. JTanner (WMF) (talk) 09:50, 18 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

More than 40 images?

[edit]

I had trouble doing more than 1 session of 40 pictures. Is there an open issue going further on Android, or is this just me having this issue? 2A01:C23:5C77:5D00:5DF7:31B7:1B4B:67E2 (talk) 20:29, 8 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hrm. It's not by design and we can't reproduce the problem. It could be a memory issue in the app. We'll try to see if we can figure it out. Johan (WMF) (talk) 16:37, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
There shouldn't be any limit on the number of pictures you can go through. The issue you're seeing might be because of a low-memory issue on your device. At the moment this feature is not totally optimal, as it loads all of the image suggestions into memory at once. Depending on your type of device, and what other apps might be running in the background, this feature's high memory usage might be triggering an out-of-memory condition. Future updates to the feature will optimize memory usage. Dmitry Brant (talk) 16:53, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Error Launching the Task

[edit]
When trying to launch the daily task I get an error message. This happens only if I use German as the first language in the app. After switching to English the session starts without problems. Matthias.Wolf (talk) 12:16, 25 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the report, Matthias. Could you please share the error message to us? CFeng (WMF) (talk) 21:03, 25 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
It just says "Es ist ein Fehler aufgetreten" and I can click on the button to go back to the suggested edits start screen. The app version is 2.7.50355-r-2021-05-05. After closing the app completely the task seems to be working again. I remember the first time the error occurred when I was at step 8 of 10. So it might be an issue on the sending side. Matthias.Wolf (talk) 05:02, 26 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. Looks like something went wrong when submitting the data, we will try to reproduce and fix the issue soon. CFeng (WMF) (talk) 21:47, 26 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the report! Johan (WMF) (talk) 17:25, 25 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Error starting task

[edit]

After completing 70 tasks yesterday, it now just gives me this error every time I try again.

Tried reinstalling the app to see if it made any difference and now the task is gone from Suggested edits altogether. Oh well. Anders Feder (talk) 16:07, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for reporting the problem! Johan (WMF) (talk) 06:03, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
The task has now returned. It still gives me the same error message. However, it now also says this underneath the error:
imagerecs/enwiki_image_candidates.tsv Anders Feder (talk) 08:54, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
The task now works again. I made no changes that I know of to make it work. Anders Feder (talk) 14:58, 6 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Aaand now the error is back. No error message. Safe to say it's periodic. Anders Feder (talk) 11:06, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
The team is aware of the issue and will see if they can figure out what's causing it. Johan (WMF) (talk) 11:33, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Edit quality - based on how many times one of your contributions was reverted

[edit]

I'm using the beta app and just wanted to say that I'm pretty sure this feature is bugged.

It says i have perfect edit quality, that is 0 reversions done by other editors.

I'm 95% this is wrong as I've made hundreds of edits and remember at least one of them was reverted (I regularly contribute to AA2).

Is there anyway I can check this? I don't want to deliberately add a poor edit that needs to be reverted. R.Lemkin (talk) 10:39, 19 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello!
Can you remove the app and then reinstall it again?
Also, please check the release version as well.
If this is still happening, email us on our support email:
android-support@ wikimedia.org-remember to remove the space after @-
So, we can get to our software engineers and create a ticket for this issue to be followed.
Thanks in advance. ARamadan-WMF (talk) 06:58, 20 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
