Desktop support?

[edit]

Hi, since most regular editors edit from the desktop I was wondering if this feature would also be available to such. Thanks. The Blue Rider (talk) 17:50, 25 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello @The Blue Rider,
Thank you for your inquiry. Since this is a test project, we are taking an iterative approach of having it on mobile first, monitoring and evaluating its use and improving it, and then exposing it to desktop users based on what we have learned. Hello! That makes perfect sense. Thanks. The Blue Rider (talk) 16:32, 3 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

tag placement?

[edit]

Step 4 says "Copy and Paste this html marker to the bottom of the Meta page." Does that mean that only links above the tag are included in the list, or what is the reason for needing it in the bottom? Will something break if I put the tag in the top of the page? Ainali (talk) 15:10, 7 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Ainali,
Thank you for asking this question. The request to put the tag at the top bottom is mostly housekeeping rules to ensure it does not interfere with the page's content and is easy to find and remove when necessary. UOzurumba (WMF) (talk) 21:29, 8 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
"The request to put the tag at the top is mostly housekeeping rules" (my emphasis)
Is it the top or the bottom you want it at? (And is it up to WMF to decide housekeeping rules for content now unless it is strictly technically necessary?) Ainali (talk) 09:09, 9 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Ainali Sorry for the typo, I meant to write "put the tag at the bottom" The Language and Product Localization team would prefer the tag to be placed at bottom. UOzurumba (WMF) (talk) 21:32, 14 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Too many collections in the future?

[edit]

Hello! I explored the feature and saw m:Wiki Loves Ramadan 2025 already using it and the integration looks great. The m:Wikimedia CEE Spring 2025 is about to start and it relies heavily on suggested article lists for translation. The problem is that there are about 40 lists of 100-500 articles prepared. Would adding them in the tool be OK? It would be great to limit the lists to list of target wikis and time period (for CEE spring the lists change every year). I understand that the time period part can be managed manually by removing the page-collection tag. Papuass (talk) 09:42, 17 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
