Existing RFC and conversion of this one[edit]

I don't know if Platonides supported converting this to an RFC, so I've given him a heads up. Also, for reference, I started a somewhat related RFC, Requests for comment/Password strength, a while back (without seeing this). Superm401 - Talk 04:30, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

You mean Password requirements (talk), of course. :-) --MZMcBride (talk) 18:39, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

@Superm401, Platonides, MZMcBride: Would anyone mind if I merged this one and the one for password requirements? They both need work big time, and they're not necessarily competing ideas, but are very much complimentary. In previous RFC reviews I said I would clean up password requirements to prep for more structured discussions, and I feel like these two could be two sides of the same coin, when it comes to improving password security. To be clear, I think they both have good ideas that should br proposed. Steven Walling (WMF) • talk 00:00, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

I don't have any objection to that. I am planning on going through and redrafting Requests for comment/Password requirements. I can also take into account feedback from this page (in addition to feedback from the "requirements" one). Superm401 - Talk 00:20, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
A merge (with either title becoming a redirect) sounds fine to me. --MZMcBride (talk) 02:16, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
Platonides can you let us know if you are okay with merging the two RFC's? Drdee (talk) 19:19, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
I'm going to go ahead and do this now. Steven Walling (WMF) • talk 23:20, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
