Current TOC is unfamiliar and not seen
[edit]I think people are not familiar with how the current minimized TOC is displayed and won't find it or forget how to see it or don't notice it. The changes proposed here are good. It would be better to have a button like the one in image 1 at the bottom on mobile.

[edit]This is something that's annoyed me for ages, it's such a downside to reading on mobile that you can only navigate to level 2 section headings. "Collapsed by default" is less of an issue imo. Both proposals are a big improvement Kowal2701 (talk) 19:32, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
