@SWangari-WMF something feels missing - this is reusing Wikipedia content, which we always encourage, however there does not seem to be a method to view the list of authors or access the source article for CC-BY-SA attribution compliance. Translating WikiRun to Malay

Sharable image too low resolution

I tried it and posted the result on Mastodon. For that reason, the image could be in higher resolution. The gameplay was ok. It was not clear that there is a single game per day. Also showing the best run of the day with answers and then allowing to rerun does not seem fair. Papuass (talk) 08:48, 18 June 2025 (UTC)

Improving one's english skills (or for another language) with playing

That was my first idea : why should I play WikiRun in english ? Because it's surely a good practive for improving my cultural english knowledge. In fact, it turned out to be a rather difficult game (from "sun dog" to "toy dog"), which I didn't finish after more than one hour of tries ; I shouldn't have come far from success but probably, I miss some pertinent references about "toy dog". Now, with this experience, I am thinking using the WikiRun framework in teaching ; therefore my questions :

• Is it possible to run a version for which one can prepare the two beginning and ending pages ? I have been playing "manually" with WikiWars, but it's hard to check all students for not cheating if they are ore than half a dozen…
• Could it be possible to make clues appearing after a certain delay ? Examples : "you are getting quite far from an efficient travel… Consider going back (on/ a few…) steps !" or "you are not in a dead end ; maybe you could think at /THIS/ thema / subject / (or easier) you could try find a link to /THIS/ page…"... Hoping this is not totally unfeasable !

Whatever, thanks for this (so-called serious but very pleasant) game. By the way, I can't wait to try it out in my own language :-).

Thank you so much for playing WikiRun and for sharing your feedback. WikiRun is currently in a testing phase and feedback like what you provided will help to improve the game in the future. Setting your own start and end articles is an interesting idea and I have filed a Phabricator ticket https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T399026 for this. Improving hints is also a very interesting idea and one that we discussed in the design phase but did not have a clear technical solution for during implementation. Translating to Indonesia

I am not sure if I am late or not, but I would like to translate WikiRun or the future release to Indonesia. Is there a possibility to translate it in an easy way, for example using TranslateWiki? Shortest path

Today's game from en:Dancing mania to en:Hide-and-seek says that the shortest link is "1", directly from Dancing mania to Hide-and-seek. However, there is no such direct link. I think that the shortest link counter is faulty. —‍CX Zoom (A/अ/অ) (let's talk|contribs) 22:52, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
