Schedule[edit]

Is this scheduled to be included configurable to a particular MediaWiki release (i.e. 1.13)? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 163.231.6.69 (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

No, this feature will not ship with MediaWiki 1.13 since 1.13.0rc1 has already been tagged. Hopefully this would be included with MediaWiki 1.14 or 1.15. From the looks of the wikidata branch, it does not seem to be very actively developed (latest commit was four months ago). The namespace manager code was written for 1.10alpha according to this one wikitech-l email. --Sayuri 00:14, 25 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

For anyone watching this page, I've taken it as a pet project to see this released in core 1.14. --Skizzerz 23:09, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

So how do I add the extension to my wiki, it links to some sort of SVN thing but that seems to be some sort of full Mediawiki install ... I dunno, it's confusing >_< -- 71.189.203.117 04:36, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

This is not an extension, but part of a branch to fork core MediaWiki code. The description which appears is that from the WikiData branch (which is a heavily-modified MediaWiki 1.6). The only known direct successor is OmegaWiki.org, which is branched from MediaWiki 1.10 code. Indeed, it is a full MediaWiki install, and one based on making some rather extensive changes - furthermore, it cannot be used as a drop-in replacement for the current MediaWiki 1.14alpha as the new version stores passwords in slightly-different format by default. I have no idea why this page was moved from a Help: page to an Extension: page when it was brought here from meta:, but no, this namespace manager is not packaged as an extension. I had been using a kludged extension:simple namespaces back when there was still some reasonable expectation that a real namespace manager would be brought back into the core MediaWiki trunk, but this was two years ago and still waiting.
This page should be templated as "out-of-date" and moved out of the Extension: namespace. Wikidata 1.6 is a fork of core code, no longer current, it's not a small self-contained editor to do for namespaces what Extension:SpecialInterwiki does for the "in other languages" links. --Carlb 18:55, 12 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

so how do i delete user pages from my wiki?[edit]

Dead project?[edit]

So why did this die? This sounds like an incredibly good idea. --Calion (talk) 19:42, 16 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Special:Namespaces[edit]

This refers to Special:Namespaces to replace the extension, but i don't find Special:Namespaces anywhere? --AssetDenmark (talk) 19:21, 7 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

This does not work, https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:Namespaces
