Talk:Google Summer of Code/2011
Feel free to add it to the list of suggestions. Anyone can make new suggestions for projects.
Number of applicants?
How many formal applications has the WikiMedia foundation received? Just curious. 22.214.171.124 15:07, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Are there any reasons that we would not benefit by requiring that recommendations for exclusion on the grounds that a project is too hard or too easy be accompanied by specific reasons for saying so, supported by actual empirical evidence instead of just mentors' opinions?
I would also like to encourage mentors to express both a textual opinion along with a numeric score on as many proposals as possible. Can we agree on a minimum acceptable proportion? I personally will try for all of them, and I'm sure I'll be able to cover 75%.
Robla told me that I was not allowed to mentor because he was unhappy with my critique of how the program was handled last year. I will try again, both to increase the effectiveness of my criticism, and as a mentor next year.
March 11 deadline?
Did the Foundation's application get in by the March 11 deadline?
Yes, and we had our project accepted.
What is the status of the WYSIWTF/WYSIFTW WYSIWYG editor which was being discussed on wikitech-l and wikitext-l around January and February? Would it work as a GSOC project?
