Option "Add translation" is gone

Different name patterns during publishing

During publishing of draft to user space I intentionally saved the page several times (making some additions to the draft). The page was saved but using different names:

1. eo:Uzanto:KuboF/John B. Calhoun - OK
2. eo:Uzanto:KuboF/User:KuboF/John B. Calhoun - as I remember, I elected to
3. eo:Uzanto:KuboF/User:KuboF/John B. Calhoun (1) - OK, I elected to "keep both version"
4. after fourth saving was in the interface showed that the page is saved on eo:User:KuboF/John B. Calhoun (1) but in fact it was saved to eo:Uzanto:KuboF/User:KuboF/John B. Calhoun (1)
5. eo:Uzanto:KuboF/Uzanto:KuboF/John B. Calhoun (1) - published only by clicking the button "Publish translation", not asked if I want to merge version or keep both versions.

So, not only double part of user name but also mish mash with local version of the word "User", KuboF Hromoslav (talk) 16:00, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

There is still this problem.

1. I published new translation to eo:Uzanto:KuboF/Joseph P. Overton
2. edited and moved (without leaving redirect) the translation to main namespace
3. published again from CX, CX published it to eo:Uzanto:KuboF/Uzanto:KuboF/Joseph P. Overton KuboF Hromoslav (talk) 20:55, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

Some suggestions

I've made my first article using this tool: ca:Conillera (Eivissa), from en:Illa Conillera. Maybe some of them are already reported, but these are my issues:

1. I've had some problems with wiki links and repeated references as you can see here.
2. I couldn't edit wiki links to disambiguate terms in the destination page.
3. When I clicked on the links on the source page (in my case, english), they opened (or tried to) in the destination wiki (catalan, in my case), arriving to pages like ca:Rosemary, that don't exist.
4. It would be great to automatically add the proper template to verify Wikipedia license. It would be as simple as adding the template ca:Plantilla:Traduït de in the discussion page.

Hello, Thanks for your feedback. Its really helpful. For links, we plan to fix several issues including disambiguation in the coming weeks. For templates, we would like to prepare a long term solution that can handle the diverse range of templates that currently exist.

For the problem you mention as #3, could you please describe the exact steps that you followed? The expected behaviour is - clicking on the source column would display the link cards for source and target (if it exists) in the 3rd column. Clicking on the link in either of the link cards should take you to the exact page for that language thats being displayed. If this is not happening then its probably a bug. Thanks. I have just made a simple click and the behaviour is the one you pointed. The click I made on the link, it was not a simple click but a center-click with the mouse, that opens the link in a new tab in most browsers. I have checked and it is the same with a right click - open in new tab option.

Maybe it's not the most common way to use this tool, but I am really used to open links in new tabs. I don't know if it's easy to fix it, but it would be a great improve. I suppose I am not the only one opening links in new tabs.

I join the proposal for adding some template for attributing the original authors, like the mentioned d:Q5615431. As different wikis use different template, possibly different syntax and different place (in article or in tak page) , I propose that should be some setting for local wiki (system message?). Two issues

1. It seems like it has some troubles with named references. Either named references in general, or if the source is missing quotation marks for the name attribute (example source and result).
2. When I now (after I have activated the beta option) move an article in the main namespace I get a message that a temporary copy has been saved in my user space (which it luckily didn't). Adding link option

Hello, how can make the internal link editable when edit using CT? I made my first article using CT and I think that you should add a key for this feature. Indonesian structure is different so when you said American cheese, we call "cheese American" (keju Amerika) so if I want to insert link, I should choose between cheese or American and I should write the internal link code manually to another word. Arupako (talk) 16:13, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

Hello, currently there is a way to handle this but it may be that its not the right solution for your problem, so please correct me if I am not understanding this correctly.

If the translated version needs to be written as 'cheese American' and the entire text has been assigned the link corresponding to the source link,and if you would like to remove it, then you can 1) click on the link in the translation column and

2) from the link card in the 3rd column, choose 'remove link'.

If you would like to add the link to only one of the words then you can

1) select/highlight the word in the translation column and

Congratulations and issues

I find particularly useful the extra buttons in the right panel (bold, numbering...) and other new features. However I still find some issues like the unexpected dissapearance of elements like the internal links tool every now and then. Everything seems to work till the time comes to publish the translation: the tool says a private page has been created with the translation, but the provided link leads nowhere (Wikipedia says the page does not exist). <nowiki>I had this problem when translating both Dénes Berinkey & Dezső Pattantyús-Ábrahám articles from English to Spanish. The only reason I think could be the source of the problem is the presence of those special characters (é, ő etc) in the article names... Button not working on Spanish Wikipedia

A Spaniard told me about the tool, and suggested that I try to use it. So I read the instructions on how to use it and attempted to follow them and translate an article from English into Spanish. When I clicked the “save translation” button, a link was shown to the translation and I found out it didn't work. I discovered that in time to copy the translation and paste it in a document on my computer. Later, I edited an article on Spanish Wikipedia and when saving it, I was shown a captcha because the article contained links to other websites. Knowing that the article that I translated also contained such links, I suspect that a captcha should have been shown in order to save the translation, but didn't show up. I read the instructions on how to create an article on Spanish Wikipedia, and I have now uploaded the translation “manually”. So does this mean that it's currently impossible to translate articles into Spanish if their references include links? Pretended leer (talk) 14:57, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

Request for template translation

This tool has a great use and potential. Thanks to everyone involved. I would like to propose the addition of a feature to translate templates between language. Many languages have templates that serve a similar purpose and it would be great if a user can save a mapping between the fields of two templates. We are already looking into that. You are right - some templates are indeed similar. But many are not similar. And some of those that are similar are not 100% similar. And names of tempate parameters must be mapped between all languages. And some templates are inserted into other templates. And so on.

Error while saving page (es->en translation)

I have tried to use the tool [1] but gives an error while I try to publish it: "Error while saving page"

Suggestions

• Tables don't display properly if they are too wide
• The size of the right pane should be adjustable so that more space can be given to the other two columns when needed

Little thing

Hi there. In English for representing one thousand we write like this 1,000 (with a coma) but in Catalan we use a dot, 1.000 . For decimals we would write 0.54 in English but we use 0,54 in Catalan.
