FlaggedRevs maintenance

[edit]

@Yaron Koren: You write that FlaggedRevs is maintained by the WMF, yet phab:T185664 indicates there is no maintainer. Do you have more details? If not, would you mind moving information about maintenance to the extension's page? Chealer (talk) 05:44, 3 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Well, that ticket is from 2018, and it says "virtually without any maintainer" - which is not quite the same thing as "without any maintainer". My sense is that FlaggedRevs is still getting some minimal maintenance, even though it still has a lot of problems - see, for example, this recent fix, in response to a bug report from Finnish Wikipedia. Thanks @Yaron Koren. I changed it to "fairly maintained". --Chealer (talk) 20:21, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Title (scope beyond approval)?

[edit]

I see that FlaggedRevs goes beyond simple approval, allowing to rate revisions. It seems "approval" is a bit reductive; even some of these extensions which do not support rating not only allow approving, but also rejecting revisions. Would "Content evaluation extensions", or perhaps less confusingly, "Content reviewing extensions" not be a better title? Perhaps we can also be more general and call them "Quality control extensions". --Chealer (talk) 20:21, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Something more general would presumably also encompass extensions like ArticleFeedbackv5. While that kind of listing would be useful, it's also useful, I think, to specifically show just the extensions that let you select among specific revisions. Perhaps ideal would be having both lists.
