Talk:Citoid/Determining if a URL has a translator in Zotero

Dead link[edit]

The given page isn't very helpful at the moment - it shows "No tests run" for all dates. Is there an alternative way to quickly find out if a given URL/domain is supported by Citoid (apart from trying it out manually)? Regards, HaeB (talk) 00:48, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That isn't as easy to find out, since Citoid uses its own HTML meta-data scraper as a fall-back when Zotero doesn't return any result. However, there is a way to see which translators are being used the scraping process: the list of all translators can be found here. Note that not all of them are used; only the ones that have v included in browserSupport are contacted by Zotero's translation server. Each translator file also contains the target field, which is a regular expression identifying the URL that a given translator supports. Mobrovac-WMF (talk) 15:14, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
