Structured Data Across Wikimedia/Image Suggestions/Feb 2023 survey

Over the past couple of weeks we have been working on iterating our image suggestion notification designs. Below is a prototype that shows our latest designs and iterations.

We are interested to learn about your initial impressions, your thoughts on what you like and what can be improved in our notifications. We look forward to your feedback!

Instructions

For this activity you will need your computer. You’ll use the prototype and add your feedback to this page (on a separate tab or window) on your computer.

1. Please access the prototype at this link.

   ⚠ Keep in mind that, since this is a prototype, most of the links don’t actually work, and there might be other bugs or quirks that you’ll come across.

2. On your computer, create a new section on this page using the form below (it will be pre-filled with the feedback questions for your convenience).

   ⚠ The new section form unfortunately isn't compatible with the visual editor (VE). If you are using the visual editor, please manually create a new section and copy & paste the feedback questions (listed below).

3. Fill in your feedback about the prototype in your newly created section. Please, choose the appropriate form for your language, enter your username (if you wish) and click on the button below.

2. Open the prototype link, click on your notifications, then take a moment to look around. Please explain what you think is being displayed here, and also what you would do next if you were to encounter this on your account.
3. How would you explain the purpose of the top image suggestion notification (for the "Tahitian drumming" page) to a newer editor seeing it for the first time?
4. How would you explain the purpose of the bottom image suggestion notification (for the "Culture of Fiji" page) to a newer editor seeing it for the first time?
5. Let’s say you decide you want to add an image suggested for the Tahitian drumming page. Explain briefly how and where you’d add the image to the article.
