The RecentActivityFeed extension lets you view recent activities on your wiki like RecentChanges per user or per page.

It also has a programming interface which makes it easily usable by other extensions like Education Program or Campaigns to view activity from a select group of users.

RecentActivityFeed was originally written by Nischay Nahata, as a WikiWorks consultant.

Installation[edit]

  • Download and place the file(s) in a directory called RecentActivityFeed in your extensions/ folder.
  • Add the following code at the bottom of your LocalSettings.php:
    require_once "$IP/extensions/RecentActivityFeed/RecentActivityFeed.php";
    
  • Yes Done – Navigate to Special:Version on your wiki to verify that the extension is successfully installed.

Usage[edit]

Install this extension and then checkout Special:RecentActivityFeed.

Testing and feedback[edit]

This extension is being built for Wiki Education Foundation, as an improvement to the current Extension:Education Program-based course pages on English Wikipedia. The product manager for this feature is Sage Ross; contact Sage with any feedback or suggestions for further improvement.

This extension is installed for testing at education.wmflabs.org. See, for example, this activity feed.
