Done. Please ask on Project:Current issues next time. Thanks
Sure, will do
@User:Wargo it won't let me create the pages, saying that "The title "Translations:Extension:Brainfuck/7/es" has been banned from creation. It matches the following blacklist entry: .*[sf]uck.*" - any chance you can tweak the blacklist too? Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 06:41, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
It worked, thanks so much
Request for making a page for translation
I'm not sure where to post this, so I'll do it here: can Manual:image_comment_temp table please be marked for translation? I fixed the misnumbering of the tvars in T:1, and those should propagate to other languages. Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 23:49, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
Done by Tomybrz at 06:44, 27 May 2019 (UTC). Thanks!
User:Tomybrz and User:Jdforrester (WMF) could you also mark Manual:Page content models for translation? Its the only page in Template:ExtensionTypes that is not already set up for translation. Also, where should requests like this be made in general? Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 00:44, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
Forgot user name
Unsure if this location is correct for this question, but not finding any other location which seems to address the problem.
Have forgotten user name. Tried two likely suspects, inputting them with correct email address, but get no email to reset password.
Tried to create a new account with each of the likely passwords; error message informs that each is "in use".
If you're sure the account exists under one of the user names you tried (you can check on Special:ListUsers to confirm) and you're sure that it's your account, then not receiving a password reset email means the email on the account is not set to the email address you think it is, or there is no email on the account. In any case, I'm not sure if staff will help to recover the account (I would suggest to ask on the support desk for more help with this in general), so the general advice is probably going to be to just create a new account. (As far as that goes, I may be wrong, but I don't think MediaWiki checks for duplicate passwords, so it doesn't make sense that it would complain about a password being in use when you try to create an account... are you sure it wasn't complaining about the chosen username or the email address you entered?)
what do i do?
how do i write about someone on wikipeida? my article was rejected. what do i do to make it approved?
Sorry, this is not the place to discuss the article on Wikipedia. This wiki is for the documentation, discussion, and development of the MediaWiki software.
For your question, you can ask your community.
Pointing people away from this bureaucrat page for more general topics?
To quote from the top of this page:
Use this page for requests for:
- Promotion (to administrator, bot, bureaucrat, etc.)
- Anything else bureaucrats are needed for (is there anything?)
However, probably because of the unhelpfully vague name of this page, often people would stick into "Other" a bunch of general comments of relevance to the wider wiki, which properly belong on Project:Current issues. I noted this, but @Nemo bis reverted me claiming I was changing the purpose of the page, so seeking comment here before re-instating.
Can't you just rename it to "Requests to bureaucrats" ?
Sure, we could do that too. Presumably people had a reason to keep it at this name since it was created in 2008 though?
