Requested user-rights: Transwiki importer.

I request transwiki importer rights to import the pages from Meta related to PyWikipediaBot as well as the pages related to the import/transwiki import functions. Both sets of pages are pages I have worked on editing at Meta but they both belong here. Last year, an admin imported two of the more than 100 PWB pages but failed to follow up on the other pages and failed to tag those two on Meta, thus they have substantially diverged with the meta pages getting far more editing. I will import the rest of the pages and determine whether the pages that were imported can simply be re-imported or if edits here need to be more carefully merged. There are currently at least 112 pages on meta directly related to PWB (this number includes some redirects which won't be imported obviously), including some pages in languages other than English. The documentation includes detailed descriptions of many of the scripts that are packaged with PWB. The import documentation is not good but is better than nothing else and should be imported and then improved, rather than left in the wrong place.

I'd be perfectly happy with temporary rights, say, 30 days to give me time to import all the pages, tag them all and review my work, etc. If it's preferable to limit it.

I currently hold editor rights on this project; additionally, I'm a grapheocrates (bureaucrat) and măgistrātus (admin) on Latin Wikisource, an admin on English Wikisource and English Wikipedia, and I have transwiki importer rights on multilingual Wikisource. I have experience using transwiki importer on both wikipedia and wikisource as well as on a non-WMF instance of mediawiki and, as mentioned above, I have contributed to the documentation of the tool. As it's somewhat relevant, I also run two bots on Wikisource, DougBot and InterwikiBot, the latter globally, the former on en.ws, la.ws, and mul.ws (as well as on two non-WMF wikis); both bots use the PyWikipediaBot framework. I'm also involved in attempting to revive Botwiki. I intend to continue to work on these documentation pages once they are here and to coordinate further documentation of PWB and importing.--Doug 20:43, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
