I am a MediaWiki developer (My user page) and I'm testing the newest extensions and report bugs regularly.[1] In this wiki I maintain the documentation of Extensions I use and try to extend them and when it's needed. I'm also cleaning up spam and nonsense. I would like to have sysop permission, so I could help maintaining this wiki. --DaSch 14:11, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that the "automatic sysop for being a dev" only applies if you actually have commit access to the SVN repository. While reporting bugs is nice and stuff, that's mainly a reason to get commit access, not a reason to get sysop. I have noticed you've cleaned up some spam/vandalism occasionally, but not enough in my eyes to warrant the ability to block/delete/protect pages. As it is, anything that needs the above three listed actions is usually taken care of pretty quickly by others anyway. In addition, adding documentation to the wiki does not require extra privileges. So, what I'm basically saying is that I don't think you're quite yet ready for being a sysop. Someone else might disagree with me and give it to you anyway, but that's their prerogative. --Skizzerz 18:05, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
