2012-05-monthly[edit]

This project is not yet in highly active development, but work has started on a more complete set of requirements and user stories. Chris Steipp put out a call for user stories that were prioritized. We determined that most stories fell into two categories: Implicit grant (a.k.a. "user agent flow"), and Server-side flow. We'll likely need up-front registration for people implementing OAuth, so Chris will propose a workflow for what that looks like. Comments are welcome on the wikitech-l mailing list.

2012-07-monthly[edit]

Chris Steipp continued to gather requirements, but mostly focused on other projects in July, leaving OAuth on the backburner.

2012-08-monthly[edit]

Chris Steipp mostly focused on projects other than OAuth. However, he continued to gather requirements in preparation, including the need for Wikimedia to finalize SUL migration beforehand.

2012-09-monthly[edit]

This project is on hold until November at the earliest.

2012-12-monthly[edit]

This project is still on hold, but was added to the Platform team's 2013 Roadmap, tentatively scheduled for March.

We plan to do this work in conjunction with other authentication/authorization work. See Auth systems for future updates on this project.
