Bad wording[edit]

The message describes a protected page as locked. However, the documentation and the message name consistently use protected. It is hard to get help on this issue when all you have is locked.

Make this text a wikilink to action=protect because the page returned for action=protect contains information that is relevant, helpful, publicly available and hard to find. --Yecril71pl 13:57, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

This was done in August 2010 by User:Siebrand (git change e2d381fda228c933a7a3aea97a95d592ab528785). Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 22:33, 15 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Why this page appears blank[edit]

This page appears blank because its message makes use of parser functions which take $1 (the protect level) as their input, which is not set when you're just viewing this page.--Jasper Deng (talk) 01:14, 9 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
