Manual talk:Installing third-party tools
- Sounds okay to me. I was trying to keep it consistent with Manual:Installing MediaWiki. How about Manual:Installing optional dependencies. Too long? --Cneubauer 20:09, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, the page doesn't really tell you how to install them (and it shouldn't), so that shouldn't be part of the name. It should list the various elements of functionality that require optional third-party tools, point the reader to an appropriate download location and further installation info, and note any special configuration that is required in order to use them with MediaWiki. I think "Optional dependencies" is fine for a title, but am open to further suggestions. --HappyDog 21:14, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
How to install ImageMagick?
This is driving me crazy! I can't install ImageMagick on my Mediawiki! I've read several forums but I can't get it! They say: "use this command, use that command..." but what does it mean? I could barely download it to my PC, then what? Upload to my server? Is there anyone who can explain every single detail about how to install ImageMagick to work with Mediawiki?
Thanks in advance!

Is this information still correct?
The difficulty with installing ImageMagick in a WAMP remains the same, so is this information correct? In the version ImageMagick-7.0.8-12, there does not seem to be a "convert.exe". It is not immediately clear or obvious from the installation instructions or screens that you need to select the "Install legacy options (e.g.convert)". It is there, but easily overlooked. While this seems an issue for Image Magick, more accurate advice should appear here as well, I suggest. (This is the first time I have been on this site for 11 years, so my old account no longer exists, I suspect)
