Number of articles in a category?[edit]

Is this possible to use some arguments for the {{NUMBEROFARTICLES}} magic word? I'd like to have a sum of articles in a given category. If you are positively sure it is impossible, please say it too, so that I can commit a ticket at MediaZilla.

Thanks,

Numer of Articles isn't correct due to requiring an internal link[edit]

There is no requirement to have internal links in a content article but the current system requires them to be counted. There are many meaningful articles that are not showing up in the current system. I believe the requirement should be an internal link or some specified size for the article. A meaningful article would probably have at least a few hundred bytes. I would suggest 250 or so. This would improve things for statistics and random. --DaleDe 19:42, 10 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Number of articles from a URL?[edit]

Is there a possibility to get number of articles returned in a json/xml/text for a url? రహ్మానుద్దీన్ (talk) 06:18, 5 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yes, see API:Siteinfo (siprop=statistics). --Nemo 12:55, 5 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
