How do you make existing trackbacks go away? I was hit with trackback spam and setting this false doesn't get the content off the page. --76.214.195.127 12:02, 30 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

It would be neat to be able to have a link to a page, listing trackbacks, in the tool box, or at the bottom of the "what links here" page. And also to be able to remove spam, as per the above IP's comments. Neat feature. =D

To hide all trackbacks, create the page MediaWiki:Trackbackexcerpt and set it to a single printable character. Putting a single space in there didn't work. You'll still have a trackback box, filled with your one character, but you will no longer have the spam. You could probably put some clever CSS stuff in there to get rid of the trackback box altogether, but I was lazy. Long-term solution appears to be upgrade to 1.19 or greater, when trackbacks were removed. Bytesmiths (talk) 23:59, 25 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Examples?[edit]

I never saw a wiki listing trackback links. Any examples to get an idea how it can look like on a wiki?? --Subfader 02:25, 25 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
